Bedi is an all-weather tidal lighterage port located on the southern coast of Gulf of Kutch near the city of Jamnagar, on the west coast of India. The port is located at a distance of 65 Kms south of Kandla and 50 Kms east of Okha.
Jamnagar is a major supplier of Electric and Electronics factories located in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
The Jamnagar oil refinery division is the largest refining hub in the world. There are three oil refineries. The combined capacity of the two refineries is 68.2 MMTPA handled by Reliance Industries Limited, and the third refinery 20 MMTPA capacity is handled by Essar Oil Limited. These refineries contribute significantly to the economy and development of the district.
About 37 large and medium scale industries are engaged in cement, fertilisers, woollen cloth, petrochemicals, oil refineries, solvent plants, calcine, bauxite, soda-ash and caustic soda.
There are 12,661 registered small-scale industries. Brass industry is a major small-scale industry concentrated in the city of Jamnagar. The blocks at Dharol and Jamnagar have industrial estates. The district has clusters for Brass Part Industries and Bandhani Industries. 3,246 SSI units are engaged in the manufacturing metal-based products and 1,361 units are in cotton spinning and weaving activity. There are 17 salt works operating in the district. There are two operational SEZ in the district Jamnagar which are Reliance SEZ and Essar SEZ.
